Delmas treason trial

Explanation
Twenty-two Transvaal UDF leaders were tried for treason in January 1986. Eleven were convicted in December 1988 and were given sentences from five to 11 years' imprisonment. The Appellate Division overturned the convictions at the end of 1989.

Was detained and held as an accused in the `Delmas Treason Trial` by members of the SAP in Pretoria, in December 1984.
Was stabbed and assaulted by unidentified persons in Kroonstad, OFS. He died from his injuries in hospital on 4 November 1991. His mother believes that members of her family were targeted because she was a witness for the defence in the Delmas Treason Trial.
