She lost her home when she was forced to flee from Njobokazi, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu, near Durban, on 18 March 1990, after her husband had been killed in a petrol bomb attack on an Inkatha induna`s house. See Njobokazi attack.

An induna and ANC supporter who was shot and killed by IFP members during political violence at Nyoni, KwaZulu, near Gingindlovu, Natal, on 23 March 1993. One perpetrator was granted amnesty (AC/1999/0332).
