DECISION
During 1992 the applicant was the Commanding Officer of the Bronkhorstspruit Command Unit which operated in the Tiegerspoort area near Pretoria. In 1994 he illegally obtained ± 1800 bullets from a person only known as Gert, which person was supplying the Boerekommandos with arms and ammunition. The bullets were not used for illegal purposes but later only used for target practice.
The Committee, after considering the application, is satisfied that the application complies with the requirements of Act 34 of 1995; that the offences to which the application relates are acts associated with a political objective committed in the course of the conflicts of the past; that the relevant facts relating to the

particular offences have been disclosed; and that the offences do not constitute a gross violation of human rights.
The applicant is GRANTED amnesty for the illegal trading in, possession of and/or the firing of ± 1800 R1 bullets in or at Tiegerspoort during the period March / April 1994.
