DECISION

The applicant, at all times material hereto, was a member of the African National Congress (the ANC) and Umkhonto weSizwe (MK).

During the period 1978 to 1989 the applicant assisted in the transportation, concealing and supplying of weapons of war to various Machinery Commanders of MK. He operated in Mozambique and Angola.

We are satisfied that all offences committed by the applicant in relation to ordinance were acts committed with a political objective and were done with the intention of furthering the aims of the ANC and MK.

The applicant is GRANTED amnesty in respect of the unlawful possession and supply of firearms, explosives and other weapons of war during the period 1978 to 1989.
