CHOMA, Sydney Sekwati 21An ANC member who was detained and tortured in February 1977 in Sekhukhuneland, Lebowa, and in Groblersdal, Transvaal. In November 1979 he was found guilty of high treason in Pietermaritzburg and sentenced to 16 years’ imprisonment on Robben Island.References

CHONCO, Boy He died after being shot in police custody in Umbumbulu, near Durban, on 12 June 1991. Three of Mr Chonco’s employees, all members of the Mkhize family, were also shot dead in police custody at the time, allegedly in an effort by the security forces to kill members of the prominent, ANC-supporting Bhengu and Mkhize families.References
