Description
A member of the African Resistance Movement who was detained on 4 July 1964 and held for several months in solitary confinement in Cape Town. During her detention she was severely beaten by named Security Branch members at Caledon Square police station. She was convicted of sabotage and served two years of a five-year prison sentence. She sued the Minister of Justice and a member of the Security Branch for the assault and the case was settled out of court in her favour.
