Was shot dead by IFP supporters in his home in Sharpeville, Vereeniging, Transvaal, on 19 April 1992, along with other family members. The perpetrators raped three women before killing a total of seven people. The home was attacked because the Lefheidi family were ANC supporters. Wesi’s brother was an MK operative who had recently been killed by members of the SAP.
