MAHOGO, Hermit 39Was assaulted and tortured by named perpetrators at Nongqongqo prison in East London, Cape, in 1962. He was held for a year, part of which was spent in solitary confinement. He was then placed under a five year house arrest.References
MAHOKO, Alfred Motlalentoa 28Was tortured by named members of the SAP while in detention at Actonville police station, Benoni. He was arrested after a 1986 May Day rally in Wattville, Benoni, Transvaal, when a police informer pointed him out. He was charged with murder and sentenced to two years` imprisonment. He survived on a disability grant until 1995.References

MAHOMED, Ashraf Allie 17Was detained on 13 June 1986 during the state of emergency at Uitenhage, Cape. He was held for a year during which he went on an eleven-day hunger strike in protest against conditions at the prison. He was allowed to study for his final school examinations only if he went into solitary confinement. Mr Mahomed had been tortured in detention for several days in 1983, when he was fifteen, and again in 1985. See police brutality.References

MAHUNGELA, Lucas Mabhoyisana 29Was shot dead by members of the SAP in Mhluzi, Middelburg, Transvaal, on 21 November 1990 while participating in a march to Middelburg police station organised by the ANCWL in protest against the harrassment of their children by Mhluzi and Middelburg police. Police opened fire on the marchers, killing five people and injuring eight others.References
