Was shot and injured by IFP supporters who attacked his grandmother`s home in Smero, KwaZulu, near Pietermaritzburg, on 20 September 1990 in intense political conflict in the area. Five other family members, including two other children, were shot and injured, and two were shot dead in the attack.
