Was shot and injured when gunmen opened fire on residents in Ivory Park, Tembisa, Transvaal, on 14 August 1992 in violent conflict during a taxi boycott. The taxi industry in the area at the time was controlled by IFP-aligned groups. Several others were killed and injured in the attack.
