Was shot dead by members of the IFP-aligned Khetisi Kheswa gang in Sebokeng, Transvaal, on 12 January 1991 during the night vigil of an ANC activist killed by the gang. Gang members fired shots and threw hand grenades at mourners, killing a number of people and injuring several others. See Nangalembe night vigil massacre.
