MHLAMBI, Samson Lucky

Description
An ANC member and chairperson of the Tokoza civic association who was injured when he was shot in the leg in Tokoza, Transvaal, in 1993. The perpetrators were members of the ISU allegedly accompanied by the leader of the Khumalo gang. Mr Mhlambi was also detained under emergency regulations in 1985 and subsequently spent three years in detention at Modderbee prison in Benoni, Transvaal, where he was assaulted by members of the SAP. Mr Mhlambi was finally released after he and other detainees went on a hunger strike for twenty eight days. See Khumalo gang.
