Was shot and injured by members of the SAP in Kimberley, Cape, on 27 January 1990, while participating in a protest march against a visiting overseas cricket team who were breaking the international sports boycott against South Africa. She was then arrested for public violence and sentenced to 18 months` imprisonment.
