Was shot and burnt to death when the house he was in was set alight on 17 March 1994 at Sonkombo, Ndwedwe, KwaZulu, near Durban. Numerous houses had been burnt down the previous day by IFP supporters in a sweep through this ANC-dominated part of Ndwedwe. See Sonkombo arson attacks.
