Description
Was injured when two MK operatives detonated a bomb in a shopping centre in Amanzimtoti, near Durban, on 23 December 1985, in retaliation for a South African security forces attack on ANC members in Lesotho two weeks earlier, in which nine people had been killed. The Amanzimtoti explosion killed five people and injured 61. One of the operatives was sentenced to death and later hanged. Ms Nkabinde lost an eye as a result of her injuries.
