Was severely beaten by members of the SAP in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, on 25 February 1990. The police officers ordered Boiki Phooko and his 18-year-old cousin into the veld, where she was raped and he was assaulted. His cousin’s mother was an active ANC supporter and member of the local civic organisation.
