Description
Was injured when two MK operatives detonated a bomb in a shopping centre in Amanzimtoti, near Durban, on 23 December 1982 in retaliation for a South African Special Forces attack on ANC members in Lesotho two weeks earlier, in which 42 people had been killed. The explosion killed five people and injured 61, including Ms Prinsloo’s eight-year-old daughter. One of the operatives was sentenced to death and later hanged.
