Was shot dead by IFP supporters on 4 August 1992 in Ratanda, Heidelberg, Tvl, during clashes between COSATU-aligned FAWU members and IFP-aligned UWUSA members. Conflict on the factory floor spread into the surrounding community leading to scores of deaths and injuries.
