A UDF and ANC supporter who was arrested on public violence charges and severely beaten by named policemen in Mossel Bay, Cape, on 21 April 1986. All charges were later dropped. He was detained on 16 June 1986 and held under emergency regulations for four months in George prison, Cape. He was again arrested and beaten by police on 15 July 1987. See police brutality.
