An ANC supporter who was shot dead by IFP supporters in Gengeshe, Richmond, Natal, on 21 March 1991. The family had fled this IFP stronghold because they were ANC supporters, but had re t u rned to attend the funeral of a family member. The house was attacked during the funeral vigil. Mr Shelembe’s mother was also killed, and the house was burnt down three days later.
