Was shot dead by IFP supporters in Ratanda, near Heidelberg, Transvaal , while attending the funeral of a ‘comrade’ on 4 August 1992. Ratanda was one of several East Rand townships engulfed in political conflict between IFP supporting hostel-dwellers and ANC-supporting residents in the early 1990s.
