An ANC supporter who was sentenced to death with other activists on 24 June 1987 for the ‘necklace’ murder of a girl suspected of having an affair with a policeman in Queenstown during the state of emergency. Mr Silinga died under mysterious circumstances in Pretoria Central prison, on 10 December 1987. Police informed the family that he had contracted asthma.
