SWARTBOOI, Roy Bomwana19arrested by members of the SAP in Upington, Cape, on 3 December 1985, and held for more than three years awaiting trial for the crowd killing of a Municipal Policeman. One of the Upington 26, Mr Swartbooi was sentenced to community service, and was acquitted on appeal. References

SWARTLAND, Archie Booi Was one of several young men abducted, assaulted and necklaced on 2 February 1987, by a large crowd of residents of Mdantsane township, Ciskei, who accused them of being part of a criminal gang called the 'Killer Boys'. Mr Swartland and three others were burnt to death while one survived with serious injuries. Twelve perpetrators were refused amnesty (AC/1997/0049).References
SWARTS, FWas severely injured when members of MK’s ‘Dolphin Unit’ detonated an explosive in a car near the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s court and the adjacent police station, Transvaal , on 16 March 1988. Three people were killed and more than 20 were injured in the blast. Two MK operatives were granted amnesty (AC/2001/003).References
SWARTZ, Jonathan17A UDF activist and SRC member who was arrested and tortured by being burnt, electrocuted, beaten and hung upside down from a tree for several hours on 29 August 1985 in Worcester, Cape, while being interrogated about a stone-throwing incident by named members of the SAP and Security Branch. He was redetained in March 1986 during a school boycott and held under section 29 for many months. References
