Was severely injured when members of the UDF attacked her home in Tumahole, Parys, Orange Free State (OFS), on 29 May 1986. Her husband, who was a member of the Municipal Police, was killed in the attack. There was considerable student unrest in the area at the time. At least thirteen of the perpetrators were charged and convicted. Three were sentenced to death, and three others to twenty years’ imprisonment.
