The applicant was convicted on a charge of assault on his wife Cecilia Mogandile on 12th November 1992. He was sentenced to a fine of R1000 or 12 months imprisonment, half of which was suspended for a period of 2 years on certain conditions.
The assault resulted from an argument between the applicant and his wife about his activities as Chairman of the ANC branch at Taung.
Having considered the application and relevant documentation and being satisfied that the application falls within the ambit of Section 19 (3) (b) of Act 34 of 1995;
And being satisfied that the requirements set out in Section 20(1) of the above Act have been met:
Amnesty is GRANTED to the above applicant in respect of the charge of assault of which he was convicted at the Taung Magistrates Court on 18 November 1994.
