DECISION

During 1991, in equipping the Self Defence Units (SDU) to perform their operation, the applicant was involved in being in unlawful custody of an unknown number of firearms and ammunition.  He also distributed these to members of the SDU’s.

He applies for amnesty in terms of Act 34 of 1995 as amended (the Act) in respect of these offences.

We are satisfied that the applicant has complied with the requirements of the Act and consequently amnesty is 

GRANTED: in respect of unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition as well as distribution thereof as referred to above.
