DECISION

        

Applicant states that on 27 April 1993 he was arrested at Soweto for having been found in possession of an unlicensed firearm with ammunition and a hand grenade.  At that time he was a member of uMkhonto weSizwe (MK), the military wing of the African National Congress (ANC), which claim has been confirmed by the ANC - TRC Desk.  The Committee is satisfied that applicant has complied with the requirements of the Act and the offences were acts associated with a political objective.  We accordingly 

GRANT: applicant amnesty for the aforesaid offences.
