DECISION

                                                                                            

The Applicant was a member of the African National Congress (the ANC) and Umkhonto weSizwe (MK).

During the period 1989 to 1990 he provided a safehouse to and harboured MK cadres who were in the Tzaneen area fighting against the government.  He also provided transport to MK cadres and hereby facilitated them in carrying out of their operations.

We are satisfied that the offences committed by the Applicant were acts associated with a political objective.

The Applicant is GRANTED amnesty in respect of harbouring MK cadres and providing transport to MK cadres in the Tzaneen area during the period 1989 to 1990.
