			<text>The applicant applies for amnesty in respect of :</text>
		</line>

			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>1. contravention of Section 27(1) read with Section 27(1)(c) and Section (1) and Section 29 of Act 26 of 1956 in causing an explosion and thereby endangering property;</text>
		</line>

			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>2. contravention of Section 1(A)(i) read with Section 1A(iii) of Act 72 of 1982 in respect of intimidation;</text>
		</line>
		<line number="6">
			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>3. contravention of Section 7(4) read with Section 10 of Act 26 of 1956 in respect of obtaining explosives without a permit;</text>
		</line>

			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>4. the theft of a motor vehicle for the purpose of using it in carrying out political offences.</text>
		</line>

			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>All of the above charges related to an explosion caused at the shop of a certain Hepburn near Patensie on or about the 3rd of January 1993 and the malicious damaged caused to the property of the Hepburns.</text>

			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>The Committee after considering the application, the relevant documentation and the evidence, is satisfied that :</text>
		</line>
		<line number="10" isquote="true">
			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>a) the application complies with the requirements of Act 34 of 1995;</text>
		</line>
		<line number="11">
			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>b) the acts, omission or offences to which the application relates are acts associated with a political objective committed in the course of the conflicts of the past;</text>
		</line>
		<line number="12">
			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>c) that the relevant facts relating to the particular offences have been disclosed;</text>
		</line>
		<line number="13">
			<speaker></speaker>
			<text>d) that the offence does not constitute a gross violation of human rights.</text>
		</line>

			<text>Amnesty is </text>

			<speaker>GRANTED</speaker>
			<text>in respect of the offences mentioned above and the malicious damage of the property of Mr. Hepburn on the 3rd of January 1993 at the Kwati Store near Patensie, Port Elizabeth.</text>
