<text>Taking into consideration the nature of the offences reflected in counts 1, 2 and 3 above, the prevailing circumstances in KwaZulu Natal and in particular the Empangeni area and the applicant's affidavit, the Committee is satisfied that the illegal possession of the firearms and ammunition reflected in counts 1,2 and 3 were associated with a political objective. It should be noted that his co-accused Musa Patrick Hadebe AM6667/97 also asked for amnesty in respect of murder and attempted murder. The Committee need not consider amnesty in this respect as no application has been made by the applicant in this regard.</text>
