DECISION

This is an application for amnesty in respect of the following offences:-

Illegally entering the Republic of South Africa in 1987;

Furthering the aims of a banned organisation, the Pan Africanist

Congress of Azania ("PAC") of which the applicant was a

member;

Terrorism in terms of the Internal Security Act, and

Illegal possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The applicant was convicted and sentenced to twelve (12) years and six (6) months imprisonment at the Kenton-on-Sea Regional Court on 11 March 1988 for the said offences. After considering the matter and all the evidence before the Committee, we are satisfied that the applicant has complied with the requirements of the Act. He has shown that the offences are "acts associated with a political objective" in terms of the Act. He has also given a full disclosure of the facts relevant thereto.

Amnesty is accordingly GRANTED for all the offences.
