By the end of 1990 Slippers was the acting commander of the AWB in the Eastern Transvaal Town of Belfast. He told the Amnesty Committee how he’d received an instruction from his superiors to participate in the AWB’s so-called ‘white by night’ operation. // The streets of white residents would be patrolled from 9 pm in the evening and that all blacks will be removed from the town, if not willingly, forcefully.
