Description Was arrested in 1976 in Bonteheuwel, Cape Town, after the Soweto uprising had spread to the Cape. He was convicted in 1977 of arson and sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment in 1976 in Pollsmoor Prison, Cape Town, where he was held in degrading conditions.
