A prominent member of Inkatha and of the KwaZulu Government who survived an attempt on his life, but had his car damaged in a hand grenade attack in Clermont, near Durban, in 1988. One UDF supporter and Clermont Youth Congress member was granted amnesty (AC/2001/101).
