LENGENE, Moleke Peter

Age 25

Description
A SAYRC member from Soweto, Johannesburg, who was abducted from Gaborone, Botswana, by members of the Soweto Security Branch in February 1982. He was brought to South Africa and severely tortured in captivity. He subsequently became an askari. Members of the Soweto Security Branch were granted amnesty for Mr Lengene’s abduction (AC/2001/228). Mr Lengene died before that amnesty application was heard.
