A-Team (Chesterville, Durban)

Explanation
The Chesterville A-Team, a state-sponsored vigilante group composed of Inkatha supporters, was set up by the Security Branch in 1985 in Chesterville, Durban, to counter the activities of the UDF, COSAS and other civic organisations in the area. Political tensions between UDF supporters and members of the Chesterville A-Team frequently resulted in attacks against UDF and ANC supporters.

MR MAKANJEE: How many names did you provide to the investigation team in terms of people who could support your version?
I would like to ask you something, Archbishop. What does one do those that did this to you? I feel that they should also appear before such a panel. I’m referring to these that were in this team, I would like them to say why they did all this.

MR MALINDI: Thank you, Chairperson. It's Malindi, M-a-l-i-n-d-i, I represent the victims. I appear with my attorney, Mr Koopedi, who is not in at the moment but will be joining this team later during the course of the day.
MR NEL: Is it correct that your task was simply to be part of, what you would refer to as a support team, who remained inside South Africa?
The conference had not started, we were preparing for the conference. When I came back I was out casted by the police that were called INKATHA. I - I showed him the - the document, he then said he would speak to his team and that was that.
