Special Report Transcript Episode 12, Section 1, Time 00:21

Who should get amnesty from the Truth Commission and who not? Should someone qualify who killed someone purely because he had another skin colour and then claim political motivation? Should someone who murdered a gang leader who terrorised his community be granted amnesty? These are the questions the Amnesty Committee was faced with in Kroonstad this week. We’ll tell you the story of the rise and fall of Kroonstad’s Three Million Gang. From Queenstown we bring you a report of two blood baths in that town’s recent history, and of course Gauteng saw a special hearing of the Truth Commission on the Soweto uprising of 1976. But first, we look at the very serious allegations of human rights violations made against two top ANC leaders, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and Natal leader, Jacob Zuma.
