Father Michael Lapsley was the victim of a letter bomb sent to him in Harare in April 1990. He was at the time an ANC chaplain and lost both hands and an eye in the explosion. // I’ve always said the person who I considered to be responsible ultimately, in a political and moral sense, was FW de Klerk because he presided over the state which had death squads which he knew about and he did nothing to disband.
