Description
An ANC member and trade union organiser who was detained and tortured by members of the SAP in East London during 1963. She was held in solitary confinement for a year in North End prison, Port Elizabeth, and then sentenced to five years’ imprisonment, which she served in Kroonstad prison. On her release in 1969 she was banished to Mabopane, near Pretoria.
