Was shot dead by ANC supporters on 12 February 1994 in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu, near Durban, while attending the funeral of a local IFP councillor. About twenty killings of both IFP and ANC supporters were recorded that month. Hundreds of people were forced to flee the area, and schools and shops were forced to close.
