Was detained and assaulted by named Amasalomzi vigilantes and the SAP on his arrest at his home in Ashton, Cape, and again at the Montagu police station, Cape, on 13 November 1985. He was charged with arson and sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment in Brandvlei prison.
