Description
An ANC supporter who was detained under section 29 of the Internal Security Act on 18 November 1988 for providing support to MK operatives. He was held in solitary confinement for two months in the Sea Point and Macassar police stations, Cape Town. During her detention she was hit, abused and subjected to numerous deprivations that resulted in severe depression, requiring hospitalisation. Ms Hans filed a civil suit against the Minister of Law and Order, which was settled out of court in her favour.
