A worker at the SASOL II plant who was detained and severely beaten by members of the SAP in Nigel, Transvaal, in 1980 because he had the same surname as an MK operative involved in the attack on the SASOL II plant. The MK operative was sentenced to death. Mr Hlope spent four weeks in detention.
