A National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) member who was detained, severely assaulted and tortured by named SAP members in Thabong, Welkom, Orange Free State in 1987. This occurred at a time of violent clashes in the area between union members and vigilantes allegedly hired by mine management to attack perceived UDF supporters.
