Was shot in the knee by IFP supporters in Mabhuyeni, KwaZulu, near Empangeni, Natal, on 3 March 1994 in political conflict between ANC and IFP supporters during the run-up to the April 1994 elections. Her sister and mother were also injured in the attack and the family home was burnt down.
