Twenty one people were killed and two hundred and seventeen were injured. MAHLANGU, DavidWas stabbed to death by perpetrators employed by the SAP in Daveyton, Transvaal, in March 1989. Mr Mahlangu was politically active in the area and was repeatedly harassed by police to try and make him an informer. His refusal reportedly resulted in a death trap.References
MAHLANGU, David MabhongoAn ANC supporter and former Ingwenyama (king) of the Ndzdundza Ndebele, had his home petrol bombed by members of the KwaNdebele Police in KwaNdebele, Transvaal, on 19 June 1987 because he opposed the proposed independence of KwaNdebele. Mr Mahlangu was the recognised traditional leader of the area during the conflict in the mid-1980s.References

MAHLANGU, EliasWas beaten by four named members of the SADF at the Waterval Camp, Siyabuswa, KwaNdebele on 10 June 1986. He died later in hospital. The inquest found the soldiers criminally liable for his death, but they were only found guilty of assault and fined between R300 and R600.References
