Was shot dead in KwaNdengezi, KwaZulu, near Pinetown, Natal, on 25 October 1991 in ongoing conflict between ANC and IFP supporters in the area. He was in a shop when it was attacked by a group of unidentified persons, allegedly because the shop owner was an ANC supporter.
