Was killed when the vehicle in which he was travelling detonated a landmine in Messina, Transvaal, on 26 November 1985. The driver of the vehicle was also injured in what was part of an ANC landmine campaign aimed at military patrols in the rural border areas. Three MK operatives were granted amnesty (AC/2001/093).
