Was killed when his house was petrol-bombed by a named SAP member in June 1986 in Kagiso Krugersdorp, Tvl. Mr Montwedi`s father lived in the same house and was an ANC supporter and chairperson of the Kagiso Residents Organisation committee on discipline and good conduct.
