Was detained by named members of the SAP at Jan Hofmeyer police station in Welkom, OFS, on 6 June 1986. His mother was also detained. The police were allegedly searching for his brother, an ANC supporter. The family had been subjected to continuous police harassment because of the brother`s alleged political activities.
